If the vehicle is returned after the time that was agreed in writing, we charge € 50 for every extra hour or part of an hour and pass on any claims for compensation for damages that may be asserted by the next renter or another person due to a late receipt of the vehicle.If the vehicle is returned before the expiration of the agreed rental period - there is no refund for unused days unless the vehicle can be rented to another party.
Festivals:
Please
note that it is not generally allowed to travel
to festivals with our rental vehicles.
Participation in festivals and other events is only permitted with the express
consent of the Rental Company.
We are glad to inform you about our extended hygiene policy. Cleanliness and a high hygiene standard has always been part of our quality measures. Nevertheless, McRent has now implemented some additional measures to exceed the current hygiene standards.
We have certified hygiene officers, who will train our whole cleaning staff. So at all rental stations the vehicles will be cleaned and disinfected according to the guidelines of our certified hygiene offices. Moreover all stations are now equipped with professional disinfection devices. Air conditioning systems, ventilation shafts and the interior of the vehicle will be disinfected with these professional tools. On this occasion we take special care of the points, which are touched very often by the customers, such as the steering wheels, gear levers, keys, handbrakes, door handles, drawer handles, buttons, touch panels, etc.
When entering the vehicle, customers will find the attached sign and some hygiene tips for the campsites, which will help to stay safe during their trip. For the additional and time-consuming Antiviral Cleaning Procedures a Hygiene Fee will be charged. This Hygiene Fee will be mandatory for all rentals with Pick-Up on or after 1 July 2020. The surcharge only applies for new bookings. Existing bookings remain unaffected.
Minimum age is
25 years, and must have held a full drivers licence for
a minimum of 5 years. Maximum age is 69 years. You are
required to hold a licence that allows you to drive a
vehicle over 3.5 tonnes. Please check vehicle weight
and your licence. International
driving licence required for Non EU drivers.
KN 75 per day - maximum KN 575 per rental.
The security deposit of € 2,000 (comprehensive coverage with
a deductible of € 2,000 per loss) must be paid at the start of a rental.
Refunded if the vehicle is returned in a proper condition and after the final
settlement of the rental contract by McRent HQ
The renter bears the costs of any damage that occurs during the rental period while using the vehicle in accordance with the contract up to KN 9,700 per case of damage. If the damage is caused by intent or gross negligence, especially if the renter was unable to drive due to the consumption of drugs or alcohol, the liability limitation does not apply. The same applies to any damage caused by not observing traffic sign 265 (maximum vehicle height on a road). Despite the agreed limitation of liability, the renter is moreover fully liable for any damage caused by failure to observe the vehicle dimensions (vehicle height and width), by improper loading and unloading and by the load or by driving backwards without being directed.
The renter is liable for any damages claimed by a third party against him/her or against McRent that the renter has caused to a third party during the use of the object of rental. The renter is liable for all fees, levies, fines, and punishments that are imposed on the lessor in connection with the use of the vehicle unless they are caused by fault of the lessor.
The vehicle may only be driven by the renter himself/herself and by the drivers specified in the rental contract.
In case the reserved vehicle cannot be made available at the rental station, the lessor reserves the right to provide a vehicle that is comparable in size and equipment or bigger. That will not cause any additional rental costs for the renter. If a smaller vehicle is offered and accepted by the renter, the price difference of both vehicles is reimbursed. If the provision of a bigger vehicle causes higher ancillary costs, such as ferry charges and tolls or operating costs, such costs are to be borne by the renter.
It is possible to make trips abroad within Europe. Any trips to East European countries are subject to the lessor's prior approval. Trips to any war and unstable zones are forbidden. Please note: No Travel to Russia is allowed.

If a renter shortens their hire period by more than a week - it may be treated as a cancellation of the whole booking and a re-booking. This depends on when the amendment takes place and how many days of hire are being cancelled. Please ensure you always have travel insurance in place.
