Car Lease - Frequently Asked Questions
Here you find questions and answers about car lease in the UK and Europe.
Q: If I am leasing a car, can I rent a baby or booster seat?
A: Unfortunately not. If you need these you will have to order them when you order your car and it will be fitted in the factory. It has to be prepaid and at the end of the lease if it yours to keep.
Q: If I have booked to return the car in Paris and I find I need to return it in Calais - can I do this?
A: You will have to call the Paris Head Office at least a week prior to return and arrange the change with them. If you are returning the car in France, there is no charge. If you find you need to return it to another country, a charge will apply.
Q: Considering this is 'my car' do I still have access to roadside assistance?
A: Yes. Roadside assistance is provided in over 25 European countries, 7 days a week and 24 hours a day. Full details are provided with your final documentation.
Q: Can I extend my lease once I have started?
A: Yes you can. You must contact the Head office at least 8 days prior to the end of your lease so that they can send you the paperwork to extend the insurance contract. Please note that the charge will be higher than what you paid in Australia. Also there is no refund for unused days.
Q: Who is allowed to drive the car?
A: The conditions vary between the 3 companies, so the answer will depend on which company you use. If you intend to have more than one driver, it is best to mention this to your consultant to clarify the details.
Q: Can I buy this car at the end of the lease?
A: If you love the car that much...sure you can! Just contact the head office about 10 days before the end of your lease.
