Ireland: Shannon and Erne
|
| Our partnership with Emerald Star enables us to bring the best of Ireland. |
Cruising on the Shannon and the Erne, you can soak up the verdant landscapes and welcoming hospitality as you are transported to historic towns and villages.
Ireland is a fishing paradise; salmon, pike, bream and roach are abundant in the lakes that spill off the waterways.
Join the locals in the country pub for a pint of Guinness and enjoy the live music offered on many a weekend. |

• Fantastic Irish hospitality
everywhere you stop
• Amazing scenery and beautiful
landscapes
• Fantastic fishing and golf
• Ancient religious sites
• Hi-tech locks on the Shannon-
Erne waterways |
The River Shannon and surrounding network of peaceful loughs are
an angler’s paradise - so make sure you hire a dinghy to reach the
best bits! On land, it is a rambler’s heaven too, as national parklands,
historic ruins and grand houses in abundance are there to be explored.
Peaceful waters and
dramatic scenery
Carrick-on-Shannon, the gateway
to both the north and south
Shannon cruising region, is a major boating centre and thriving
town. Its old-fashioned narrow
streets, diversity of shops and
traditional Irish nightlife make
this a perfect place to start your
holiday. Don’t forget to visit
Ireland’s smallest church - the
Costello Chapel is only 18m2
in size!
