links the Loire basin to the Seine basin, across preserved

between Nivernais and Morvan areas. The Nivernais canal
runs along villages, castles, valleys, plains and hills, rainforests
and rivers which give to this country a natural dimension that
you can't miss. Located at the meeting point of the Nivernais
canal and the "Latéral à la Loire" canal, Decize is really at the

Digoin, central point for fluvial navigation, lies in the heart of
the Charollais region and its famous white oxes but it is also at
the junction of 3 canals. To the south on the canal from Roanne
to Digoin, also called the «quiet canal», you will cruise right in
the middle of the fields of the Brionnais region along the Loire
river which tempts you to make random stops in shade of trees.
To the east, the Centre canal, between the Saône river and the
Loire river runs through the Ceramic valley to Paray le Monial, a
small town famous for its burgundian roman art, to the
Maranges Vineyards and their "côtes chalonnaises". To the
north west, the canal latéral à la Loire leads to art and
historical towns like Decize and Nevers through the
Bourbonnais region.

de Losne to La Roche Migennes, crossing the Saône plain, the Ouche valley,

The Seille river, affluent of the Saône, a superb river which
runs in the middle of the Burgundian Bresse, poultry-yard of
the famous "Poulet de Bresse". You will discover the quiet
charm of its waterful bocages, dotted with half-timbered
houses, a real natural reserve of wildfowl. From La Truchère,
you will sail through a wildlife sanctuary since 1980, giving
you a mosaic of different natural circles (marshy pond, peat
bogs, and dunes with lichens and moss). Finally, let's go to
Louhans, a brisk and picturesque city with its main street
bordered of 157 arcades and of XVIth century frontages which
shelter, on Mondays, its famous farm market. From La
Truchère, you also can join through the Saône river, the
Santenay and the Mâcon South vineyards.
