| The now luxurious 6 passenger Fleur de Lys was originally constructed in 1941, in Belgium, to serve as a freight carrying vessel. Soon after she was commandeered by the German army in the Second World War instantly becoming a part of European history. With preservation in mind she underwent conversion into a passenger vessel in 1986. Her furnishing and equipment includes items from 22 countries, many as fascinating as the barge herself. The air conditioned interior boasts a stately lounge with a Grand Piano, open bar and large windows that panoramically frame the passing countryside. The separate dining room accommodates the most elegant candlelit dinners. The furnishings are authentic pieces which were collected on a trip to India over 30 years ago. Fleur de Lys also has a heated pool on its upper deck and 6 bikes for passengers to use at their leisure. |
