La Dolce Vita Padova
- Venezia
Venice, the Islands of the Lagoon,
the Brenta River, Padua
Sunday Padua and the Piovego Canal
Guests are met at 5 PM at Hotel Villa Goetzen in Dolo,
just 20 minutes by road taxi from Venice. We transfer you
to Padua by car, where the crew is eager to welcome you
on board with a Prosecco drink. We have dinner in Padua
along the Piovego canal facing directly the well preserved,
ancient city walls. Dinner on board.
Monday Padua - Noventa
In
Padova we take a walking or bicycle tour passing by Saint
Anthony’s Cathedral and the Prato della Valle.
We visit the Botanical Garden, the oldest in the world.
A walk in the city centre completes the visit of Padova
with a quick look at the Old University, the historical
Caffé Pedroccchi and the marketplace. Our late afternoon
cruise brings us to Noventa along river Brenta, where we
moor for dinner on board.
Tuesday
Noventa – Stra – Dolo
Further
descent of river Brenta to Stra, where we visit Villa
Pisani,
an 18th century masterpiece of Venetian architecture
with frescos from Tiepolo and a marvellous garden. In the
afternoon we cruise to Dolo, where we moor for the night.
For those who like cycling, it is possible to follow the
barge on a bicycle. Before our superb fish dinner at Villa
Goetzen restaurant, we take you for a glass of wine at
the old water mill of Dolo, a picturesque 1500’s
building on the canal. Dinner on board
Wednesday
Dolo – Malcontenta
- Venice - Murano
This
morning we cruise down river Brenta into the lagoon, passing
by Villa Foscari in Malcontenta, a masterpiece
of the Renaissance architect Palladio. In the afternoon
we take you on a guided tour of the Doge’s Palace
and Saint Mark in Venice. In the early evening we cruise
all around Venice to Murano, where La Dolce Vita is moored
for the night. Dinner on board
Thursday
Murano – Torcello
- Burano
We
visit a glass-blowing workshop in Murano. Should you be interested
in learning
more about the history of glass
blowing we can offer the visit to the Glass Museum later
in the morning. Our cruise then takes us to Torcello, the
first island of the lagoon to be colonised 2000 years ago.
We have lunch while cruising on Siloncello canal and in
the afternoon we can see the Cathedral of Santa Maria Assunta,
a beautiful example of Veneto-Byzantine style in Torcello.
Later we move to Burano, a picturesque fishermen’s
island in the northern lagoon. You’ll discover the
island’s colourful streets and lace making workshops.
We stay on the calm waters of Burano for the night and
enjoy dinner on board.
Friday
Burano – San Francesco – Venezia – San
Giorgio
We
start our cruise passing by San Francesco del Deserto island,
where
we can moor and visit the monastery. We then
proceed to San Giorgio to have lunch on this island facing
the Doge’s Palace of Venice. In the afternoon you
have free time in Venice, where you can shop or visit the
Clock Tour or the Correr Museum of Venetian Art and History.
If you feel like we suggest walking to Rialto Bridge to
see the Grand Canal. For the evening and night we stay
moored in San Giorgio for the captain’s farewell
dinner.
Saturday Farewell and Transfer to Venice Airport
After breakfast we cruise from San Giorgio to Fusina,
where we arrive at 11am. You are then transferred to Villa
Goetzen Hotel in Dolo or to Marco Polo airport. If you
have an early flight or if you are staying at a hotel in
Venice, we can make custom arrangements like booking a
water taxi to your destination at your expense.
The above is our standard itinerary. It is subject to changes
due to weather conditions, navigation regulations, etc.
On alternate weeks, cruise will be in reverse with minor
changes

LA
DOLCE VITA -
Family Charter 6 night Cruise
SUNDAY
Guests
are met at 5 PM at Hotel Villa Goetzen in Dolo, just
20 minutes
by taxi from Venice. You will be transferred
by car to the barge moored in Fusina. After a short evening
cruise, we will reach the Fort of Sant’Andrea, where
we moor for a superb fish dinner and for the night.
MONDAY
In
the morning La Dolce Vita cruises along Sant’Erasmo
island, Venice orchard and vegetable garden, arriving in
Torcello, the first island of the lagoon to be colonised
2000 years ago or if preferred a visit to Aqualandia for
a fun time at this water amusement park . We have lunch
while cruising on Siloncello canal and in the afternoon
we visit Torcello. We see the Cathedral of Santa Maria
Assunta, a beautiful example of Veneto-Byzantine style.
Later we move to Burano, a picturesque fishermen’s
island in the northern lagoon. You’ll discover the
island’s colourful streets. We stay on the calm waters
of Burano for dinner and for the night.
TUESDAY
We start our cruise passing by San Francesco del Deserto
Island, where we can moor and visit the monastery. We then
proceed to Murano where we visit a glass-blowing workshop.
Should you be interested in learning more about the history
of glass blowing we can offer the visit to the Glass Museum
later in the afternoon or a chance to enjoy the beaches
at The Lido where it is possible to pony ride, play mini
golf or just enjoy making sand castles. We moor for the
night on the Grand Canal at the island of glass, where
we have dinner on board.
WEDNESDAY
In
the morning we move to Venice, where you have some free
time to shop
or to visit the Clock Tour or the Correr
Museum of Venetian Art and History. If you feel like we
suggest walking to Rialto Bridge to see the Grand Canal.
We have lunch on San Giorgio Island facing the Doge’s
Palace of Venice. In the afternoon we take you on a guided
tour of the Doge’s Palace and Saint Mark in Venice.
We moor for dinner on San Giorgio Island.
THURSDAY
This
morning we cruise up river Brenta to Dolo, passing by
Villa Foscari
in Malcontenta, a masterpiece of the Renaissance
architect Palladio. Before lunch we take you for a glass
of wine at the old water mill of Dolo, a picturesque 1500’s
building on the canal. In the afternoon we move on for
2 more hours to Stra, where we visit Villa Pisani, an 18th
century masterpiece of Venetian architecture with frescos
from Tiepolo and a marvellous garden and the children will
enjoy the maze labyrinth in the park. For those who like
cycling, it is possible to follow the barge on a bicycle.
Before dinner we cruise a little more to reach Noventa.
FRIDAY
Today we go for our longest excursion by minivan to Gardaland
amusement park part Verona on Lake Garda. We spend the
whole day there, as there are many attractions for the
whole family, including fantasylands and roller coasters.
Return to the barge late afternoon to get ready for the
Farewell Dinner at a lovely restaurant in the centre of
Padua.
SATURDAY
After breakfast at 9 AM you are transferred to Hotel Villa
Goetzen in Dolo or to Marco Polo airport. If you have an
early flight or if you are staying at a hotel in Venice,
we can make custom arrangements like booking a taxi or
water taxi to your destination at your expense.

Romantic
Venice, the Islands of the Lagoon & the Brenta

Padua - Venice
Sunday : Padua and the Piovego Canal
Guests are met at 5 PM
at Hotel Villa Goetzen in Dolo, just 20 minutes by taxi from
Venice and Marco Polo Airport.
We transfer you to Padua by car, where the crew is eager
to welcome you on board with a Champagne Welcome and a
toast to the newly married couple. Whilst you unpack in
you suite, the best cabin on board, enjoy a complimentary
bottle of Champagne on ice. We have a romantic, candlelit
dinner in Padua moored at Portello gate, one of the best
preserved gates of the ancient city walls.
Monday: Padua - Noventa
In the morning we take a tour of
the Botanical Garden, the oldest in the world. In the afternoon
we visit Giotto’s
Chapel and we walk into the centre, which is as full of
history as Venice herself. Our afternoon cruise brings
us to Noventa along river Brenta, where we moor for Champagne
cocktails followed by a candlelit dinner on board.
Tuesday:

with frescos from Tiepolo. In the afternoon we cruise for
two more hours to Dolo, where we moor for the night. For
those who enjoy cycling, it is possible to follow the barge
on a bicycle. Before our superb fish dinner at Villa Goetzen
restaurant, where we have organised for you to have the
very best table, we take you for a glass of wine at the
old water mill of Dolo.
Wednesday:
Dolo – Malcontenta
- Venice - Murano
This
morning we cruise down River Brenta into the lagoon, passing

Friday:
Burano – San Francesco – Venezia – San
Giorgio
We start our cruise today by passing by San Francesco
del Deserto Island, where we can moor and visit the monastery.
We then proceed to San Lazzaro degli Armeni where we visit
one of the most interesting libraries of Venice with 150,000
volumes and more than 4,000 Armenian manuscripts, some
nearly 1,300 years old. The monks of the San Lazzaro monastery
have welcomed visitors for more than two centuries. In
1816, Lord Byron visited the island twice a week for six
months, studying Armenian and envying the monks' comfortable
academic lifestyle. A plaque quotes Byron as saying, "The
visitor will be convinced that there are other and better
things even in this life.” In the late afternoon
we moor in San Giorgio, just in front of Saint Mark, from
where you can reach Venice in 5 minutes by boat and spend
some more free time in the city until the Captain’s
Farewell Dinner on board. After dinner you can enjoy romantic
Saint Marks square by night and be entertained by the classic
musicians playing your classical favourites, followed by
a romantic night-time exclusive gondola ride through Venice.
Saturday: San Giorgio - Fusina
After breakfast we cruise
to Fusina, where we arrive at 11 am. You are then transferred
to Hotel Villa Goetzen
in Dolo or Marco Polo airport. If you have an early flight
or if you are staying at a hotel in Venice, we can make
custom arrangement at your expense.
