Canal du Midi
A SUNSHINE CRUISE
The Canal des deux Mers, between the Atlantic Ocean
and the Mediterranean Sea was the brainchild of Baron
Riquet.
Round and oval locks, operated as they used to be in
the seventeenth century, elegant arched bridges in
Roman style, included in the list of UNESCO World Heritage
sites… From Agde, a famous little southern town
dedicated to agriculture and fishing or from Homps,
located in Minervois, at the door step of Cathare country
and in the middle of vineyards, the canal lazily meanders
through a romantic landscape, full of thousand Mediterranean
fragrances.
In
the sun which filters through the leaves of plane trees,
among the shimmering tones of many-coloured
flowers, or amid the profuse chirping of crickets
and grasshoppers, your cruise will be a never-ending
delight.
You will enjoy being with your family or friends,
walking or riding on tow-paths, stopping over at historic
or
gastronomic places, totally loosing track of time.
These are the memories and images that you will keep
from you cruise on the Canal du Midi.
