2024 / 2025 Flex Rates Valid from 30 October 2023 to 31 March 2025 Flex Rates allows us to offer flexible pricing, which gives you the opportunity to secure the best possible rental rate. The Flex Rates are based on a very simple system of supply and demand. So when there are a large number of vehicles available for hire from a particular branch then the rental rate is lower. This way you can benefit from the lower rates offered. Generally, this means that the earlier you book the cheaper the rate! There will also be great Standby Rates!

Saturday Pick Up and Drop Off:
Pick up and Drop off on a Saturday is available at selected depots. A fee of € 75 applied for each pick up and drop off on a Saturday. Depots are closed on Sundays and Public Holidays.

Depot Pick Up & Drop Off Times:
Pick Up - Monday to Friday: 2pm to 5pm - (Saturday: 10am to 2pm on request)
Drop Off - Monday to Friday: 9am to 11am - (Saturday: 10am to 2pm on request)

Free vehicle parking at the depot - No Transfer from Airport to Helsinki depot (45 km)

Festivals:
Please note that it is not generally allowed to travel to festivals with our rental vehicles.
Participation in festivals and other events is only permitted with the express consent of the Rental Company.

Pets:
Available for some vehicles upon request - € 135 per dog

One Way Rentals:
One Way Rentals from Helsinki to Rovaniemi or Rovaniemi to Helsinki are possible at an extra charge of € 1,195
(only available from 1st May to 30th September).

Not included:
Fuel and operating costs are to be borne by the renter. The vehicles are handed over with full fuel tanks and they are to be returned with full fuel tanks.

Drivers Age and Licence:
Minimum age is 21 years, and must have held a full drivers licence for a minimum of 1 year (over 3.5 tonne vehicles minimum 25 years - 3 years). No maximum age. You are required to hold a licence that allows you to drive a vehicle over 3.5 tonnes. Please check vehicle weight and your licence.

Security deposit / Refundable bond:
The security deposit of € 1,200 must be paid at the start of a rental.
Refunded if the vehicle is returned in a proper condition and after the final settlement of the rental contract by McRent HQ. Accepted credit cards are Mastercard & Visa.

Late & Early Dropoffs:
If the vehicle is returned after the time that was agreed in writing, we charge € 30 for every extra hour or part of an hour and pass on any claims for compensation for damages that may be asserted by the next renter or another person due to a late receipt of the vehicle.

If the vehicle is returned before the expiration of the agreed rental period - there is no refund for unused days unless the vehicle can be rented to another party.

Winterization:
Please be advised that the vehicles in Finland will be winterized during the winter season to prevent freezing. This means that no water at all is available in the motorhome. Once the vehicle is winterized, no water can be put into the fresh water tank, it is not allowed to run water in the sinks, the shower as well as the toilet. Moreover,the vehicle cannot be hooked up to the city water supply anymore. Hirer's are advised to use the services on the campsites.

Liability and Comprehensive Insurance Protection:
The renter bears the costs of any damage that occurs during the rental period while using the vehicle in accordance with the contract up to € 1,200 per case of damage.

If the damage is caused by intent or gross negligence, especially if the renter was unable to drive due to the consumption of drugs or alcohol, the liability limitation does not apply. The same applies to any damage caused by not observing traffic sign 265 (maximum vehicle height on a road). Despite the agreed limitation of liability, the renter is moreover fully liable for any damage caused by failure to observe the vehicle dimensions (vehicle height and width), by improper loading and unloading and by the load or by driving backwards without being directed.

The renter is liable for any damages claimed by a third party against him/her or against McRent that the renter has caused to a third party during the use of the object of rental. The renter is liable for all fees, levies, fines, and punishments that are imposed on the lessor in connection with the use of the vehicle unless they are caused by fault of the lessor.

You can reduce your damage excess with two options.
Option 1: from € 1,200 to € 0 by paying an additional € 60 per day.
(for the first collision only, deductible for any following claims will be € 600 - Max of 10 days have to be paid.)

Option 2: from € 1,200 to € 500 by paying an additional € 19 per day. (Maximum of € 133)

Authorised Drivers:
The vehicle may only be driven by the renter himself / herself and by the drivers specified in the rental contract.

Substitute Vehicle:
In case the reserved vehicle cannot be made available at the rental station, the lessor reserves the right to provide a vehicle that is comparable in size and equipment or bigger. That will not cause any additional rental costs for the renter. If a smaller vehicle is offered and accepted by the renter, the price difference of both vehicles is reimbursed. If the provision of a bigger vehicle causes higher ancillary costs, such as ferry charges and tolls or operating costs, such costs are to be borne by the renter.

Trips Abroad:
It is possible to make trips abroad within Europe. Any trips to East European countries are subject to the lessor's prior approval. Trips to any war and unstable zones are forbidden.

Shortening of Rental Period:
If a renter shortens their hire period by more than a week - it may be treated as a cancellation of the whole booking and a re-booking. This depends on when the amendment takes place and how many days of hire are being cancelled. Please ensure you always have travel insurance in place.
